DVLA Road Legal Registrations

We are legally required to obtain information

  • 1 - Identification
  • 2 - Registration Entitlement

Section 1 - Identity (Confirm name & address)

  • Driving License
  • Utility Bill (Council Tax / Rates) This must be within the last 6 months.
  • Bank or Building Society Statement within the last 6 months.
  • National Identity Card
  • Passport (Not required to be UK Issued)
  • Bank or Building Society Debit Card / Credit Card (Will only confirm your name)
  • Police Warrant Card (Will only confirm your name)
  • Armed Forces Identity Card (Will only confirm your name)

Section 2 - Registration Documentation

  • Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C / V5CNI)
  • New Keeper Supplement (Green Slip / V5C/2)
  • Certificate of Entitlement (V750 or V750NI)
  • Retention Documentation (V778)
  • A renewal reminder for Vehicle Tax or SORN (V11 or V11NI)
  • Temporary Registration Certificate (V379 or V379NI)
  • A Number Plate Authorization Certificate (V948) with an official stamp from the DVLA or DVSA.
  • An Electronic Number Plate Authorization Certificate (eV948)

Important Notice

To mis-space or mis-represent the digits on number plates is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Registration & Licensing) Regulations 1971. Be sure to enter your registration number correctly because the finished number plates will be made to the same spacing you enter. We do not accept any responsibility for the mis-spacing of number plates.
